How to calculate YouTube view ratios

  1. 01

    Enter a channel or video

Paste an @handle, a channel link or a video link. The tool works out which it is.

  2. 02

    Read the ratios

Channels get views per subscriber and per video; videos get like, comment and engagement ratios.

  3. 03

    Or use your own numbers

Type views, subscribers, likes and comments into the calculator to compare anything.

What the ratios mean

Views per subscriber shows how far a channel's videos reach beyond its subscribers. Recent average views divided by subscribers is the most useful version: it shows how many people a new upload actually reaches.

For a video, the like-to-view ratio and comment-to-view ratio show how strongly viewers reacted. They vary a lot by topic and audience, so compare a video with others from the same channel rather than with a fixed target.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good views-to-subscribers ratio?

There's no standard target; it depends on the niche and how long the channel has been growing. Compare a channel with others of a similar size in its niche, and with its own recent uploads.

What is a good like-to-view ratio?

It depends a lot on the topic and the audience. Compare a video with the same channel's other uploads to judge it.

Why are likes or subscribers missing?

Creators can hide like counts and subscriber counts, and YouTube doesn't share hidden numbers. Ratios that need them can't be worked out.
