What makes a playlist healthy

When a video in a playlist is made private or deleted, it stays in the list as a blank entry that viewers can't play. Long playlists collect these over time, along with videos added twice by mistake. The health check lists each one with its position so it's quick to fix.

Drop-off is estimated from public view counts: each video's views as a share of the first video's. A steady slope is normal for a course. A sudden drop points to the video where many viewers give up, which is a good place to look at pacing or split a long lesson.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find deleted videos in a YouTube playlist?

Paste the playlist link and press Check playlist. Every private, deleted or otherwise unavailable video is listed with its position, so you can find it in YouTube Studio and remove or replace it.

How is drop-off estimated?

YouTube doesn't publish audience retention for other people's playlists, so the tool compares each video's public views with the first video's. It's an estimate: views from search or from videos shared on their own are counted too.

Why does a later video have more views than the first?

That video probably gets traffic on its own, from search or suggestions. The chart is scaled so those bars still fit, and the 100% line marks the first video.

Can I check my own channel's uploads?

Yes. Every channel has an uploads playlist. Get its ID (it starts with UU) from the channel ID finder and paste it here.
