YouTube Playlist Study Planner

Tell it how much time you have each day and it splits a playlist into daily sessions, with a finish date and a calendar you can import.

How to use the Playlist Study Planner

  1. 01

    Paste the playlist

Paste the link to a course, lecture series or any playlist. Every video is loaded, however long the playlist is.

  2. 02

    Set your pace

Choose minutes per day, playback speed and a start date. Limit it to weekdays or to a range of videos if you like.

  3. 03

    Follow the plan

Get a day-by-day list of which videos to watch, then save each day to Google Calendar in one click, or add every day to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook with the .ics file.

A schedule you can actually keep

Dividing a playlist's total length by your daily time gives a number of days, but it ignores the fact that you watch whole videos. The planner fills each day with complete videos until your time runs out, so a 40-minute lecture never gets split across two days.

Videos you tick off on the playlist length calculator are remembered in your browser, and the planner skips them by default. Come back after a few days and the plan picks up from where you are.

Frequently asked questions

How does the study planner split videos into days?

It goes through the playlist in order and adds whole videos to a day until the next one wouldn't fit in your daily time. A video longer than your daily time gets a day to itself.

Does playback speed change the schedule?

Yes. At 1.5x a 30-minute video takes 20 minutes, so more videos fit into each day and you finish sooner.

Can I add the schedule to my calendar?

Yes. Press Google Calendar on any day to open it in Google Calendar, ready to save. To add every day at once, download the .ics file and import it into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook. Each study day becomes an all-day event listing its videos.

Can I skip weekends?

Yes. Turn on Weekdays only and sessions are only scheduled Monday to Friday.

What happens to videos I've already watched?

Videos you've ticked as watched in the playlist length calculator are skipped, so the plan only covers what's left. You can include them again with one click.
