Namaste JavaScript: study plan and how long it takes

The Akshay Saini playlist is 23 videos and 7.6 hours long. Here's how long it takes at different paces, a week-by-week schedule built from the real videos, and a planner that turns it into your own daily plan.

23 videos · 7.6 hours · Akshay Saini

Namaste JavaScript explains how JavaScript works under the hood: execution context, hoisting, scope, closures and the event loop. It's a favourite for frontend interview preparation because it explains the "why" behind questions interviewers love to ask.

At 7.6 hours it is short enough to finish in a week or two, but the ideas are dense. Most people get more out of it by watching an episode or two a day and trying the examples in the browser console.

Who it's for: Developers who already write some JavaScript and want to understand how it really works, especially before frontend interviews.

Tips for finishing

  • Videos 15 and 23 aren't lessons. Tick them off in the playlist length calculator and the planner will skip them.
  • The event loop episode (video 18) is the longest at 42 minutes and the most important. Schedule it on a day with no other videos.
  • Season 2 continues with callbacks, promises and async/await. Plan it straight after Season 1 while the event loop is fresh.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to finish Namaste JavaScript?

The playlist has 23 videos and 7.6 hours of content. At 1 hour a day that's about 8 days at normal speed, or 6 days at 1.5x. At 2 hours a day it's about 4 days.

Is Namaste JavaScript good for beginners?

It's best after you know the basics of JavaScript syntax. It doesn't teach loops and variables from scratch; it explains how the language works internally, which is easier once you have written some code.

Is Namaste JavaScript enough for interviews?

It covers the core concepts most JavaScript interviews test: hoisting, closures, scope, this and the event loop. Pair it with Season 2 for promises and async/await, and practise writing code, not just watching.
