Export YouTube Playlist to Word

Paste a playlist link to download a .docx document with every video under its own heading, ready to edit, print or share as a reading list or syllabus.

How to export a YouTube playlist to Word

  1. 01

    Paste the playlist link

Copy the link of any public or unlisted playlist and press Export. Every video is read, however long the playlist is.

  2. 02

    Word is already ticked

Pick the details listed under each video's heading: link, channel, duration, views, publish date, description, tags and more.

  3. 03

    Download

Press Download to get a .docx file and open it in Word, Google Docs, Pages or LibreOffice.

A document, not a spreadsheet

The document opens with the playlist name as a title linked to YouTube and a line with the channel and video count. Each video then gets a numbered heading with its details listed underneath, one per line, with links you can click.

Because every video is a real heading, Word's navigation pane and table of contents list them all, which makes the file easy to turn into a course outline, a class handout or a watch list for a team.

Frequently asked questions

Can I open it in Google Docs?

Yes. Upload the .docx to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs. Headings and links carry over.

Can I add a table of contents?

Yes. Each video title uses the Heading 2 style, so in Word choose References, Table of Contents to list every video with page numbers.

Why isn't it a table?

A Word page is too narrow for a table with many columns. A heading per video keeps long titles and descriptions readable. For a table, download Excel or HTML.

Is there a limit on playlist length?

No. Playlists with thousands of videos are read in full, page by page, and you can export only a range with the From and To video numbers.
