Export YouTube Playlist to Text

Paste a playlist link to get every video as a numbered, readable text list with the details you pick. It opens in any editor, on any device.

How to export a YouTube playlist to a text file

  1. 01

    Paste the playlist link

Copy the link of any public or unlisted playlist and press Export. Every video is read, however long the playlist is.

  2. 02

    Text is already ticked

Pick what each entry lists below its title: link, channel, duration, views, publish date, description, tags and more.

  3. 03

    Download

Press Download to get a .txt file, or tick more formats to get them together in a ZIP.

A playlist you can read anywhere

The text file starts with the playlist name, its link and the number of videos. Each video then gets a numbered title line followed by one indented line per column, like URL: or Duration:, so the list reads well in Notepad, TextEdit, a phone or on paper.

Plain text is the safest choice for notes, emails and archives: it has no formatting to break and will open decades from now. For a spreadsheet, use CSV or Excel instead.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get just the titles and links?

Press Reset in the columns list and untick everything except Title and URL. Each video then shows its title and link only.

Can I copy the list instead of downloading it?

Yes. Copy checklist gives a Markdown to-do list with titles and links, and Copy for Sheets gives tab-separated rows.

Are multi-line descriptions kept?

Yes. Line breaks in a description are kept and indented under the video, so each entry stays easy to tell apart.

Is there a limit on playlist length?

No. Playlists with thousands of videos are read in full, page by page, and you can export only a range with the From and To video numbers.
