Neso Academy Computer Organization & Architecture: study plan and how long it takes

The Neso Academy playlist is 100 videos and 17.9 hours long. Here's how long it takes at different paces, a week-by-week schedule built from the real videos, and a planner that turns it into your own daily plan.

100 videos · 17.9 hours · Neso Academy

Neso Academy's COA course covers the memory hierarchy, cache mapping with solved PYQs, cache coherency, secondary storage, number systems and complements, floating point representation, Booth's algorithm and computer arithmetic, with many previous-year GATE questions solved.

The free YouTube playlist ends with computer arithmetic: the last four entries (instructions and addressing modes, the ALU and control unit, I/O and pipelining) are one-minute chapter previews for the rest of the course on nesoacademy.org.

Who it's for: GATE aspirants and university students who want COA with lots of exam-style practice.

How long does it take?

The full playlist is 17.9 hours across 100 videos. Here's roughly how many days that is at different daily watch times and speeds, counting video time only:

Make your own schedule

The playlist link is already filled in. Press Plan, set how much time you have each day and your speed, and you'll get a day-by-day schedule with a finish date and a calendar file. It reads the live playlist, so new videos are included.

Week-by-week schedule

A sample plan at 1 hour a day and normal speed, using whole videos so none is split across days. That's 3 weeks in total. For a different pace, start date or speed, use the planner above.

Tips for finishing

  • Work through the solved PYQ videos with the video paused before checking the answer.
  • Cover addressing modes and pipelining with Gate Smashers' COA playlist, and tick off the four preview videos so the planner skips them.
