Striver's Graph Series: study plan and how long it takes

The take U forward playlist is 56 videos and 18.3 hours long. Here's how long it takes at different paces, a week-by-week schedule built from the real videos, and a planner that turns it into your own daily plan.

56 videos · 18.3 hours · take U forward

Striver's Graph Series on take U forward covers graphs from representation and BFS/DFS to topological sort, shortest paths, minimum spanning trees, disjoint sets, strongly connected components, bridges and articulation points. Every algorithm is taught through interview problems like rotten oranges, word ladder and alien dictionary.

Episodes are numbered G-1 to G-56 and are short enough to do two or three a day, with the problem solved yourself before you watch the solution.

Who it's for: Students preparing for placements and coding interviews who know basic recursion and arrays and want a complete graph course in C++ or Java.

How long does it take?

The full playlist is 18.3 hours across 56 videos. Here's roughly how many days that is at different daily watch times and speeds, counting video time only:

Make your own schedule

The playlist link is already filled in. Press Plan, set how much time you have each day and your speed, and you'll get a day-by-day schedule with a finish date and a calendar file. It reads the live playlist, so new videos are included.

Week-by-week schedule

A sample plan at 1 hour a day and normal speed, using whole videos so none is split across days. That's 4 weeks in total. For a different pace, start date or speed, use the planner above.

Tips for finishing

  • Do G-1 to G-25 (traversal, cycles, bipartite graphs and topological sort) before touching shortest paths. Everything after builds on them.
  • The disjoint set videos (G-46 onwards) are worth a dedicated week; DSU problems show up in interviews more than people expect.
